Cool Stuff

From time to time, I come across or am sent some really cool stories and/or pictures.

I prefer to share them here rather than clutter up someones mailbox...

I'll share some of my favorites on this page because they are to cool

to delete and forget about forever.

Love this picture of deer trying to make their way in the snow!

I just love... Tulips in the Springtime!

Remember... Don't feed the animals!

A lion cub rescue in pictures!

This poor baby...

A Lion cub ventures to close to the edge and slides down the cliff wall.

When he moves he slides farther and farther down the cliff.

His worried Mom sees his predicament but is unsure what to do...

Brave females contemplate the rescue but

abandon the thought as they too are afraid they will fall to their death below.

Finally, hearing her baby's cries for help... Mom dares the rescue.

Circling under the cub, she snatches him in her jaws and scrambles back to safety.

Don't you just love a happy ending :-)

The Best Day Of Fishing Ever!
Captured on film...
Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe.

But here are the pictures to prove this story...

I've heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this...
Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter

group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile

black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat.

"Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us.

We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed.

I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and

absolutely wild animals onto the boat. In all my years fishing,

I've never seen anything quite like it! Once onboard, they

collapsed with exhaustion, shivering."

"This is a picture I took

of the rescued bucks on the back of my boat, the Alaska Quest.

We headed for Taku Harbour. Once we reached the dock,

the first buck that we had been pulled from the water hopped

onto the dock, looked back as if to say 'thank you' and

disappeared into the forest. After a bit of prodding

and assistance, two more followed, but the smallest deer needed

a little more help."

This is Tom carrying the little guy.

Toms daughter, Anna, and son, Tim, helped the last buck to its feet.

We didn't know how long they had been in the icy waters or if

there had been others who did not survive. His daughter later

told him that the experience was something that she would never

forget, and Tom suspect the deer felt the same way as well!

I told you! Awesome... huh?

Our Lord works in mysterious ways...

Gorgeous Cave!

How I feel sometimes...

The USS JFK Aircraft Carrier docking in Malta.

It's amazing to me how big it is next to the city and traffic, etc.

Really gives you scale just how large an aircraft carrier is...

What a good dog!

Toooo funny!

Just beautiful!
